WCA 2-Day Summer Lab Intensives

2-Day Lab Intensives: Students will complete a full year of labs in two intense days. All lab supplies, lab manual, and two days of in-person instruction are included in the fee for the lab intensive. These lab intensives are high school-level labs, and are open to any student able to complete high school level work.

​

What is provided to students: Each student will receive a lab manual, safety glasses, and all the supplies and specimens needed for the labs.

​

In addition, students will be given access to our online classroom for additional lab and class resources. They will remain a part of this virtual classroom for up to 6 months after the intensive, and are able to submit a formal lab for review at any time during that period. 

 

At the end of the intensive, students will have a full lab manual to show for their hard work and will have earned a full year of lab credit.

CHEMISTRY - TUES & THURS, May 28th & 30th 

BIOLOGY - TUES & THURS, August 6th & 8th

Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for these intensives.

Cost of each intensive: $275 per student; students must bring their own snacks/drinks.  There will not be a lunch break.  *Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.*

Cost Using the 2-Payment Plan: Using our 2-Payment Plan allows you to reserve your seat using 2 affordable installments. First payment, $150 deposit, is due within 24 hours of completing the registration.  Second payment, $125, will be due on or before

May 1st for the Chemistry Lab, July 15th for the Biology Lab.

Instructor - Our lab intensives will be taught by Janet Meck. Mrs. Meck is a science enthusiast and works hard to help every student enjoy whatever science class they are in.  She earned her Bachelor of Science from Christopher Newport University and enjoys homeschooling and teaching because she considers herself a life long learner.  Mrs. Meck has taught the following classes at WCA - Elementary and Middle School Mad Scientist classes; Elementary and Middle School STEM classes; Elementary Exploring Science Series classes; Middle School Earth and Space, Biology Chemistry and Physics classes; and High School Earth and Space, Biology, Marine Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy and Forensic Science classes.
